The Casa de Cultura de Itambacuri was the first two-story building in the municipality. Built at the end of the 19th century, less than 30 years after the foundation of the “Indians of Nossa Senhora dos Anjos de Itambacuri” village, this heritage functioned as the first Forum in the city.
Currently it houses the Casa de Cultura Serafim Ângelo da Silva Pereira; the Frei Agostinho Regional Museum, where a rich historical and cultural collection of the region is available to visitors and the Maria dos Anjos Abú Kamel Guedes Library.
